It's always a good idea to include a safety switch in the circuit when installing an electric fuel pump. Holley safety fuel pressure switches will ensure that the electric pump will not operate unless the engine has oil pressure. This will prevent the pump from operating in a situation where the engine might stall while the ignition is on. Connecting the switch across the starter solenoid circuit will activate the pump when the engine starts. After the engine is running, the switch will continue to supply power to the pump as long as there is oil pressure to keep the switch running.
